Using smart devices in access control

Hi, welcome to Pocket-sized Buzz, a series of videos for the security industry that proves
that good things come in small packages!
It’s no surprise that, with our growing dependence on smart devices such as phones
and watches, we’ve seen a surge in interest for them to be used for access control purposes.
Using smart devices removes the need for fobs and cards to be issued – great in terms
of cost savings and enhanced security, but also a really positive step in helping us
reduce our use of single-use plastics. Operational efficiencies can also be achieved as these
devices are far less likely to be lost, and so need replacing, and they are a more effective
way of managing visitors on site – without having to arrange for an escort or issue fobs
or cards.
