The KP9 is single end push panic button. 6 terminals are provided in the housing - two alarm terminals, two tamper terminals and two spare terminals.
Tamper protection is provided by a leaf tamper, which detects when the lid is removed.
This panic button activates via a magnet placed in the slide mechanism. When pushed, the reed circuit is broken, providing the alarm signal. This operation can be switched to normally open by changing the position of the magnet in the slide.
KP9 is supplied as a latching panic button with a key provided to reset the unit. However, the unit can be easily changed to non-latching by removal of part of the slide. Note that this is a permanent change.
