Honeywell Cybersecurity
Build Cyber Resilience to Protect Your Data, People, and Processes
As buildings become increasingly digital, organisations are adopting connected environments while recognising the rising risk of cybersecurity threats.
To safeguard against potential financial losses or reputational harm from cyber attacks, a robust cybersecurity strategy is essential.
This begins with understanding the motives of attackers and the various cyber risk scenarios that could impact your organisation.
Network and Information Security Directive 2 (NIS2)
Directive (EU) 2022/2555 of the European Parliament and Council, dated 14 December 2022, outlines measures for achieving a high level of cybersecurity across the European Union. It amends Regulation (EU) No 910/2014 and Directive (EU) 2018/1972, while repealing Directive (EU) 2016/1148 (NIS Directive).
The NIS Directive of 2016 was updated and strengthened by the NIS2 Directive, which came into effect in 2023. In response to increased digitalization, rising cyber attacks, and the evolving cybersecurity threat landscape, the EU introduced stricter supervisory measures, enhanced incident response capabilities, and expanded enforcement requirements. These updates now apply to additional sectors and entities.
All EU member states must adopt and publish the necessary measures to comply with the NIS2 Directive by 17 October 2024, and begin applying them from 18 October 2024.
