As the autumn and winter months arrive, shorter daylight hours and darker evenings can affect the clarity of your CCTV footage - especially for outdoor cameras that
rely on natural light. Low-light conditions make it harder to capture reliable images and often mean extra costs for additional lighting, which can also contribute to
unwanted light pollution.
To tackle this, Vista has launched a new range of CCTV cameras designed to deliver sharp, full-colour images, even in night-time or low-light environments - without the
need for extra lighting. These cameras are suitable for a wide variety of small to medium-sized installations and are available in the following options
Dual Light cameras use both IR and White light for image capture, combined
with motion detection. In no-light scenarios, they capture sharp black & white
footage using built-in Infrared (IR). Suppose the camera detects movement in the scenario, such as a human intruder, the built-in White Light will activate. In that case, this lights up the scenario, allowing for a full-colour image of the intruder, whilst behaving as a visual deterrent. Dual Light Plus cameras have the additional benefit of an onboard microphone, speaker, and more advanced analytics, providing an extra layer of security.
Smart-ISP cameras are perfect for scenarios where light pollution must be
kept to an absolute minimum, such as installations that are located close
to homes. The technology inside the cameras allows you to capture a low-light
scene without the need for intrusive white light LEDs or Infrared (IR). This results in sharp, full-colour images at any time of the day - even in near
pitch-black darkness! They also come with the added benefit of analytics and an onboard microphone, and the turret model includes a White Light LED mode
for when there is absolutely no ambient light.
