  • Is the Texecom app free?

    The Texecom Connect app is free to download and use, but to access its features, your alarm system needs to be compatible and correctly set up. You may require a Texecom SmartCom or SmartCom 4G module for remote connectivity.

    While basic features like remote arming, disarming, and notifications are free, some advanced features (e.g., cloud services, and integration with smart home systems) may require a subscription or a monitoring plan.

  • What does Texecom Smartcom do?

    The Texecom Smartcom is a device that links your alarm system to the cloud. It connects to the control panel via a discreet cable and uses either a wireless connection or 4G to access the cloud. This connectivity is what makes Smartcoms so popular and beneficial.

  • Is Texecom Cloud free?

    Texecom Cloud is a web-based platform that allows installers to remotely manage, program, and monitor Texecom security alarm systems. It provides tools for configuring alarm panels, managing user access, and troubleshooting issues without needing to be physically on-site. The cloud service is particularly useful for security professionals who manage multiple sites.

    It operates on a subscription-based model, where users (typically professional installers) pay for access to its features. Pricing varies depending on the number of sites managed and the level of service required.

  • What is Texecom Ricochet Technology?

    Texecom Ricochet is a wireless mesh network technology used in security alarm systems. Unlike traditional systems, Ricochet creates a self-healing, multi-path network, enhancing range and reliability.

    Key Features:
    Mesh Networking: Devices act as signal repeaters, improving communication. Self-Healing & Adaptive Routing: The network automatically finds alternative paths if a device disconnects.

  • How to reset a Texecom alarm?

    Read below on how to reset a Texecom alarm. 

    Clearing an Alert or Fault

    1. Enter Your User Code
      Enter your 4-digit code on the keypad to view the current fault message.

    2. Press RESET
      Press the RESET button on the keypad.

      • On newer Iconic keypads, this is shown as a backward circle icon.

    3. Confirm the Reset
      The system should return to its normal day mode.

      • If the fault remains, the issue may require a full factory reset or professional servicing (as noted by Smart Security Guide).

    Performing a Full Factory Reset (Use with Caution)

    1. Disconnect Power
      Remove the main power supply and disconnect the backup battery from the control panel.

    2. Locate the “Load Defaults” Button
      Open the control panel lid and find the Load Defaults button on the main circuit board.

    3. Restore Power While Holding the Button
      With the lid tamper closed, press and hold the Load Defaults button.
      Reconnect the battery to restore power to the panel.

    4. Wait for Confirmation
      Keep holding the button until you hear a confirmation sound (such as a click or tone).
      The keypad will display a message confirming that the panel is reverting to factory settings.

    5. Release the Button
      Once the confirmation message appears, release the button.
      The system will now be reset to its original factory defaults.
