The D-Link DGS-1008P is an unmanaged desktop switch with eight 10/100/1000BASE-T Gigabit ports, four of which supply IEEE 802.3af/at Power over Ethernet to devices such as IP cameras, wireless access points and IP phones. Ports 1 to 4 deliver up to 30W each from a total PoE budget of 60W, so powered devices can be installed where there is no mains socket nearby. A 16 Gbps switching fabric, 11.9 Mpps forwarding rate and 4K MAC address table, with store-and-forward switching and IEEE 802.3x flow control, keep traffic moving at wire speed. Installation is plug-and-play, with auto-negotiation and Auto-MDI/MDI-X on every port removing the need for configuration or crossover cables. IEEE 802.3az Energy-Efficient Ethernet, link status detection and cable length detection reduce power use, while the fanless 150 x 98 x 28 mm chassis runs silently in offices and meeting rooms.
