The PVM32CAMLV is an NDAA compliant public viewing monitor, also known as PVM or digital mirror. It has a built-in 1080p IP camera, records in both H.264 and H.265 formats and provides a clean, modern design to add to the armoury of the retailer in the fight to help reduce shrinkage and protect profits in areas such as self-scan tills, high-value goods areas and aisles.
The retailers logo can be displayed onscreen whilst there is no motion close to the area, when a customer approaches, the cameras motion detection switches the display to a live view of the camera and if required can also display custom messages, e.g. “Recording in progress”, along with motion recording to a microSD card. If the camera is covered, the anti-mask function will be triggered and an audible alarm is activated via the built-in speakers.
The PVM also has an active energy saving function, if the device doesn't detect any motion for a period of time the PVM will go into energy saving mode as a result the screen will switch off, although the camera will continue to record in the background, as soon as motion is detected the monitor returns to live view mode.
The monitors can run a sequence that switches between the camera and up to 5 different message screens, as an example these could include reminders about:
